Regional Artist Show opens at Cultural Center in NYM

More than 100 individual works by 50 artists from Minnesota and North Dakota will be on display at the main gallery of the New York Mills Regional Cultural Center through Saturday, June 18. Everyone is cordially invited to meet the artists at a reception in their honor on Saturday, May 14 from 3-5 p.m. Awards in four categories -- two painting awards, one award in three-dimensional work, and one award in other graphic art -- will be announced during the reception. A People's Choice Award will be named after the show ends in June.

Two representative samples of the work in this exhibit are an acrylic painting of Holstein cows titled "Pastoral" by Ellen Diederich of Fargo and a Red Breasted Merganser and Perch decoys by Rod Osvold of Perham. The exhibit includes oil, watercolor, and acrylic paintings, ceramics, stained and fused glass work, pencil drawings, photographs, mixed media and sculpture. This annual regional art exhibit is open to all artists working in any medium and it is a non-juried show. Gallery hours are Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. There is no admission charge for this gallery exhibit.
