Wadena Area Concert Association presents RedHead Express April 29

From the wilds of Alaska, with a stop in Branson, Mo., the RedHead Express arrives here in Wadena on Sunday, April 29 to present their energetic bluegrass/gospel/old-timey performance at the Memorial Auditorium. This night of fun and high energy music begins at 7:30 p.m. and is one of the performances sponsored by the Wadena Area Concert Association in its current season. The RedHead Express sound features a wide variety of catchy original songs, bluegrass, traditional, Irish, country, gospel, and old timey music. Add to all this, clogging, and fun family comedy. This nine-member family showcases their four daughters' beautiful harmonies while mom and dad add vocal depth, backup and guidance to the ensemble. Also featured are their three young boys, who also play and sing. Audiences are wowed by the energy, maturity and skill level of this family. It's exciting to watch instruments change hands and leads take turns. The Walker family, aka RedHead Express are doing what they love ... together. Their journey began when the family agreed to rent their home in Alaska for a bigger dream: following their love of music. The Walkers sold their belongings, bought a 38-foot RV, a 27-foot trailer and a dog, and headed south, the only direction one can go from Alaska. Since 2008 they have performed at the Dutton Family Theatre in Branson, and have been nominated for several awards including "Best Family Show." They are now in the midst of a 20-plus concert tour of the midwest. Pack your kids, grandkids, parents, grandparents into the car and don't stop until you get to the Memorial Auditorium to see this heart-warming family show.
