Nordic Christmas, silent auction planned on Nov. 22

The 2nd Annual Nordic Christmas Celebration and Silent Auction will be happening at The Depot in Wadena from 4:30-7:30 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 22.

A Festival of Wreaths is part of the festivities. Wreaths are designed and donated by businesses and individuals.

Event attendees vote and a People's Choice Award trophy is given for the top vote-getter. The wreaths are auctioned off as part of the silent auction.

Participants can attend and enjoy the Scandinavian Coffee Table and see the Swedish Yule tree designed and built by Kent and Helen Scheer as well as bid on silent auction items.

Don Hoffman is the first winner of this event. Wreath donations are being accepted until 3 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 19.

Proceeds of the event will all be used to keep The Depot lights on and doors open so that everyone may enjoy the railroad museum exhibits free of charge. The Depot and other special projects are supported by the Partners for a Healthy Wadena Region 501c3 nonprofit.

Contributions for the city bandstand restoration are being taken at this time. Call (218) 632-5999 or e-mail for more information.
