Your Letters: Miss Wadena set to hand over crown
Dear citizens of Wadena, I am very excited to tell you that I will soon be passing on my title to the next lucky ambassador to serve as Miss Wadena. Throughout the year there have been many fun times during my reign. I was privileged enough to visit other towns' functions and represent my own. I was given the opportunity to visit the Miss Becker County pageant, as well as Henning, Battle Lake, Vergas and a few others. I also attended many different parades and local activities including the fly-in breakfast, the firefighter's rodeo, the Thanksgiving community dinner, the Christmas festival, and the Easter egg hunt, but my favorite event of all time was being a part of the Miss Tootsie pageant. That sure was a hoot!
Being Miss Wadena was a very positive experience, I was able to represent my town and showed great pride and responsibility. I greatly appreciate everything that has been done in order to keep the opportunity alive. I wish great success to the next Miss Wadena. I would like to encourage everyone to attend the pageant and support all of the contestants. Our pageant, titled "Cowgirl Up," will be held at the Memorial Auditorium at 7 p.m. on Sunday, June 20. Tickets will be available at Peters Thrifty White Drug, First National Bank, and from any of the contestants.
