Your Letters: On immigration and government representation

Email

Janet Napolitano said she signed the homeland security report (saying returning veterans, groups against abortion and against illegal immigration were a potential terrorist threat) before she read it. Polls show a majority of the country (that pay any attention) viewed the report unfavorably.

Napolitano says she stands behind the report anyway. Nancy Pelosi said we need to pass the bill (Obamacare) in order to find out what is in it. Polls show a majority of the country was and is against it. But Obamacare was strong-armed into law anyway.

Eric Holder said he is considering legal action against Arizona for passing an illegal immigration law and then had to admit that he did not read the law. Polls show a majority of the country supports Arizona's illegal immigration law. But our government ignores its own illegal immigration laws and stands with the Mexican president against Arizona anyway.

Is it just me or does it seem like our "government of the people, by the people, for the people" is dead set against the people?
