The true worth of pioneer stories, local history, and the valuable groundwork her subjects related for us all, should make Ethelyn Pearson's "Reflections" column one of the more valued parts of the Pioneer Journal. This column has been one of your most interesting and informative for all its years. I am a rather remote subscriber and not privy to the reasoning that led to the cancellation, but I do do believe it's a mistake. What kind of budget cut does this to a community? One similar to the recent cuts to library spending? If social care and writing like Ethelyn's goes away we are all on the losing end.
