Your Letters: Beware of the senior swindle
If you are, or are about to be a senior citizen, this very unhealthy side of Obamacare is very important for you to know. If Obamacare is not repealed, millions of senior citizens will lose their Medicare Advantage plans. Anticipating a senior citizen revolt, President Obama ran millions of dollars-worth of taxpayers' money for television ads featuring Andy Griffith saying that the new healthcare law "sure sounds good to all of us on Medicare." (Andy must have really needed the money.) Taxpayer funded brochures were also sent out, claiming that the dollars taken out of Medicare to fund Obamacare would really stay in Medicare -- a real oxymoron. A politically brazen feature of Obamacare always has been the looting of Medicare. Twelve million seniors have chosen to carry Medicare Advantage, and most want to keep it. Obamacare would cut their plan by an average of $17,000 per senior over the rest of this decade. How do you like those apples? Doesn't quite sound like President Obama's sales pitch of, "If you like your health care plan, you can keep your health care plan," now does it? Kind of like the distant ring of Nancy Pelosi's admonishment that we wouldn't find out what was in Obamacare until after it was passed. If enough Seniors can grasp what is being foisted off on them by this senior swindle, they will help vote President Obama out of office on November 6, 2012, the most important election in our lifetime, followed by a repeal of Obamacare in January.
