Worthless check recovery program starting in Wadena
The Wadena Police Department in cooperation with Financial Crimes Services have implemented the Criminal Worthless Check Diversion Program to recover full restitution from individuals issuing NSF, account closed, refer to maker, electronic checks, stop payment, business to business and rental checks issued for goods and services to Wadena businesses and residents.
This program offers businesses a no cost opportunity to recover losses from individuals who have written a worthless check. For financial institutions, this program will support overdraft accounts.
For more information on this program there will be a presentation from 8-9 a.m., or 11 a.m. to noon, at Wadena Council Chambers at the Wadena Administrative Center (city offices), 222 2nd St. SE, on Wednesday, Jan. 26.
Rolls and refreshments will be served.
