Woman dies in crash near Parkers Prairie

A 77-year-old Parkers Prairie woman died after a head-on crash just south of Parkers Prairie Wednesday morning.

Lucille Vogt was driving north on Highway 29 about 8:30 a.m. when she was struck by another vehicle that crossed the centerline, according to the State Patrol.

Vogt was transported to St. Cloud Hospital where she later died from her injuries.

Kayla Carry, 18, of Browerville, was seriously injured. The Life Link III air ambulance in Alexandria was called to the scene and transported Carry to St. Cloud Hospital.

Carry's condition, initially listed as critical, was upgraded to fair Thursday morning.

The Parkers Prairie Fire Department was called to the scene to extricate the victims. North Ambulance and the sheriff's offices from Douglas and Otter Tail County also responded.

Both drivers were wearing their seat belts, according to the State Patrol.
