Wolverines take second at Tianna
The Wadena-Deer Creek girls' golf team captured second place Wednesday in the Walker-Hackensack-Akeley Invitational at Tianna Country Club.
The Wolverines shot a team round of 417 to tie East Grand Forks for runner-up honors.
WDC's Heather Theisen fired a 93 to claim fourth place and Ella Harrison brought in a 97 for seventh. WDC's Amanda Kramer shot a 106 and Gabi Ross fired a 121.
Kaily Carlin led Fosston to a winning 370 with a medalist round of 85.

WDC, Fergus Falls tie in Staples-Motley Invite
The Wolverines tied Fergus Falls for 15th place in a 22-team Staples-Motley Invitational field Saturday at the Legacy.
Rain shortened the invitational to nine hole. Scoring was plus part on the nine holes each golfer played.
Hope and Heather Theisen both had +17 rounds for the Wolverines. Paige Hartman, Ella Harrison, Breanna Speed and Amanda Kraemer were one stroke apart from +20 to +24.
Visitation's Annie Heck was one under in claiming medalist honors.
Peauot Lakes was a five-stroke winner over Elk River in team competition.
