Brittney Noon and Emily Miron combined for 24 kills Tuesday night as the unbeaten Wadena-Deer Creek Wolverines took three from Sebeka 25-15, 25-22, 25-15.

The victory was the third of the year for the Wolverines and ran their unbeaten streak over the last three seasons to 38. Sue Volkmann's club is ranked 10th in Class AA as they prepare for the big Sauk Rapids Invitational Saturday.

Hope Theisen led the Wolverines with 14 digs while Heather Theisen dished out 28 assists.

Emily Miron and Melissa Moenkedick combined with Noon for 27 of WDC's 35 blocks.

Joining the Wolverines Saturday's tournament will be Sauk Rapids-Rice, Long Prairie-Grey Eagle, Mora, Albany, Little Falls, St. Cloud Apollo, Melrose, Sauk Centre, Kimball Area, St. Cloud Cathedral, Holdingford, Annandale, Dassel-Cokato, Elk River and Rogers.

"It'll give us a chance to play some really good teams," Volkmann said. "I know we have to get our offense to play with more consistency."

The Wolverines will return home to renew a rivalry with Perham Tuesday.

"It's always a great rivalry between us," Volkmann said of the upcoming Perham match. "It's always good competition no matter what the records are."

Emily Miron blocked 11 shots and three defensive players earned double figures in digs last Thursday as the Wolverines zipped the Lakers.

WDC's front row standout also had nine kills and was backed up by Caitlin Volkmann's 16 digs, Hope Theisen's 14 and Sydney Schissel's 12.

Brittney Noon led the Wolverines with 12 kills and went 11 of 13 at the serving line with three aces.

Heather Theisen dished out 28 assists.
