Wolverines skate past Flyers in home opener

The Wadena-Deer Creek Wolverines dominated second and third period shooting 36-7 Nov. 26 in defeating Bagley/Fosston 4-1.

Jarrett Pettit had a big game in WDC's home opener scoring two goals.

Pettit put his first goal up at the 3:10 mark of the first period. Michael Behl and Austin Sutherland earned assists on the play.

Dalton Agnes tacked up Bagley-Fosston's lone goal at the 8:56 mark in Period 1 with assists from Lucas Olson and Christian Larson.

Behl and Dylan Phillips iced power play goals for WDC at the 5:32 and 16:04 marks of the second period. The Wolverines out-shot the Flyers 20-3 in Period 2.

Assists from Behl and Sutherland helped Pettit cap the scoring with a goal at the 12:56 mark of the final period.

Wesley Janson stopped 18 shots in the net for the Wolverines, who improved their season record to 2-1.
