Wolverines run winning streak to 47

Brittney Noon collected 18 digs, 14 kills and seven blocks Tuesday night as the state-ranked Wadena-Deer Creek Wolverines dominated the New York Mills Eagles 25-13, 25-12, 25-9 for their 47th straight victory.

The Wolverines won their final two matches in the state tournament in 2009, went unbeaten in winning the Class AA state title in 2010 and improved to 12-0 in 2011 by defeating the Eagles.

Sydney Schissel had a great night at the serving line going 29 for 29 with five aces.

Heather Theisen came up with three ace serves and dished out 28 assists.

Caitlin Volkmann came up with a whopping 24 digs and Heather Theisen set up 33 assists Monday as the Wolverines kept their impressive 46-match win streak going with a 25-20, 25-10, 25-13 blitz of the Cowgirls in Breckenridge.

Brittney Noon and Emily Miron carried the offensive load with 16 and 10 kills respectively.

Melissa Moenkedick had a good night at the net with six kills and eight blocks. Hope Theisen contributed 17 digs.

Sierra Steckler paced the Cowgirls with 11 kills while Amber Vold collected 11 set assists and 11 digs. Chloe Bergmann was Breck's defensive leader with 15 digs.
