Wolverines place sixth at Park Rapids
Jacob Goeden shot an 81 as the Wadena-Deer Creek Wolverines placed sixth in a Mid-Minn. Conference meet Tuesday in Park Rapids.
The Wolverines placed sixth in the eight-team field with a 459. Staples-Motley won the meet with a 392. The Cardinals were led by medalist Andrew Israelson, who shot a 74.
Wesley Janson and Adam Lund brought in rounds of 92 for the Wolverines while Jordan Kern shot a 93 and Jack Goeden fired a 101.

Goeden fires 87 in Mid-State
Jacob Goeden turned in a team-best 87 Monday as the Wadena-Deer Creek Wolverines competed in the Mid-State Conference meet at The Vintage near Staples.
Wesley Janson and Jordan Kern came in with rounds of 98 and 99. Thomas Quincer, Wade Piper and Matthew Quincer recorded rounds of 112, 120 and 128 respectively.
Medalist honors went to Detroit Lakes’ Michael Herzog with a 75. Herzog’s Lakers won the conference title with a 308, six strokes better than runner-up Staples-Motley.
