Wolverines ousted by state-ranked Rams 5-2
The state-ranked Roseau Rams ousted Wadena-Deer Creek from the Section 6A team tournament Monday with a 5-2 quarterfinal victory at Grand Forks, N.D.
The Wolverines picked up solo victories in singles and doubles play. Macy Hartman won her No. 3 singles match with Roseau's Megan Foley 6-2, 4-6 (7-2).
Sam Holweger and Jessica Rinkel teamed up at No. 1 doubles to post a daylight-shortened 7-6 (7-4) victory over Amanda Monkman and Amy Olson.
"Macy played extremely well to pick up a win at third singles," WDC head coach Neil Koehler said. "It is the best I have seen her play all year. First doubles also played very well to win."

Paige Hartman gave Emily Klingenberg a battle at No. 4 singles but the Park Rapids player won 7-6 (7-1), 2-6 (7-3).
WDC's No. 1 singles duo of Sam Holweer and Jessica Rinkel lost to Park Rapids' Julia Renner and Christina Smith 6-3, 7-6 (8-6).
