Wadena-Deer Creek standout Rachel Craig placed in the top six in three of her four events but failed to make the jump to state.

Craig was fourth in the shot put with a 34-6.25, fourth in the discus with a 109-0 and tied Bertha-Hewitt/Verndale's Kathryn VanDenheuvel for sixth in the high jump by clearing 4-10.

Charley Cantrell gave the Wolverines a fourth place finish in the 1,600 with a time of 5:49.45.

WDC's 4x800 relay team of Shane Motschenbacher, Will Eliason, Jeff Webb and Neil Janson placed sixth with a time of 9:10.17.

Bertha-Hewitt/Verndale 4x100 team of Hannah Barrett, Kasey Willis, Ashly Carlson and Heather Lipinski ran a fifth place time of 53.49.

The top two finishers in each event automatically qualify for state.
