Billed as a "hilarious rendition" of Victor Hugo's classic story, the Wadena-Deer Creek Drama Department will present the "Hunchback of Notre Dame" in three performances next week at Memorial Auditorium.

Theater-goers are urged to enjoy an off-beat tale of "odd love pentagons, mismatched mothers, goats and multiple kidnappings of the poor gypsy dancer, Esmeralda," according to a press release. They're also encouraged to "boo" and "hiss" at Dom Claude Frollo, send sympathetic "awes" to the romantic poet, Pierre, and squeal in fright at vagabond queen Clothilde.

The cast for the comedic performance includes around 40 members.

Performances will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 12-14 in Memorial Auditorium. Tickets are available at the door.
