WDC National Honor Society organizes blood drive for students, staff
Wadena-Deer Creek High School's National Honor Society (NHS) held a blood drive Thursday, March 10, where students and staff had the opportunity to donate blood to help save lives.
According to NHS member Cory Tumberg, who coordinated the blood drive as his community project, NHS had a great response with more than 40 students and staff giving blood.
"The majority of our donors were students, so I was pleased to see our students step up and donate," Tumberg, a WDC senior, said.
The American Red Cross team from Alexandria set up their mobile site in the choir room at WDC Elementary, taking donations from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. The WDC NHS is made up of juniors and seniors. Rachel Bounds serves as advisor.
