Wadena-Deer Creek's National Honor Society organized a blood drive recently to help the American Red Cross boost their supplies. A total of 40 students donated 40 pints of blood.

NHS member Jessica Wegscheid coordinated the effort by organizing volunteers and students to donate blood. Sixty-one students signed up to donate, but several were turned away due to illness, low iron, or did not meet height/weight requirements.

According to NHS advisor/math teacher Rachel Bounds: "Many of the Red Cross staff members thanked us for all of our help and commented on what awesome kids we have. I was very proud of them."
