The Class AA state-ranked Staples-Motley Cardinals canned a whopping 14 3-point shots Tuesday in topping Wadena-Deer Creek 72-48 in a Mid-State Conference tilt on the Wadena court.

The Cardinals were 14 of 26 from 3-point range.

"It's hard to shot a team that shots 53 percent behind the arc," Wadena-Deer Creek Head Coach Keith Ferris said.

The Cardinals led by eight at halftime, 35-27, and out-scored the Wolverines 37-21 over the second half.
