WDC board hires Kraus-Anderson, targets September 2012
District 2155's school board paved the way for a new school Monday night by approving a contract with Kraus-Anderson for $1,276,521 at Monday's board meeting.
Under the agreement, the general contracting company will hire all sub-contractors for the job of replacing the senior high-middle school building which was destroyed in the June 17 tornado.
The district has no official settlement with their insurance carrier, the Riverport Insurance Group, but negotiations are in progress.
Kraus-Anderson based their contract cost structure breakdown on a six-week demolition time frame beginning Oct. 15 and ending Dec. 1. Building construction would begin April 1, 2011 with a completion date of Sept. 30, 2012.
The district signed two-year contracts with M-State and St. Ann's this summer, giving Kraus-Anderson that window of time to complete the new school.
Perkins+Will has been hired to be the architect of the new school.
