Wadena woman charged with assault
A Wadena woman was charged with second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon after allegedly grabbing a pair of scissors during an argument.
Marissa Lynn Bounds, 37, was charged June 2 and posted $500 cash bail.
Around 10:45 a.m. on June 1, police responded to a report of a fight between a man and woman at a residence in Verndale, court document said. When they arrived, authorities learned a man and Bounds had been arguing in the kitchen and at one point, Bounds had picked up a pair of scissors in one hand and grabbed the man by the shirt with the other hand. Three minor children were in the home at the time of the incident.
Bounds told police she had grabbed the man's shirt and she had held the scissors, but those two incidents were about 20 minutes apart. She also said the man had taken a swing at her during the course of the argument, court records said.
