Wadena Lions poster winners announced

Area Lions clubs recognized several sixth-grade students during their annual "Youth Outreach" Poster Contest. The Wadena Lions Club awarded Jessalyn Rondestvedt as its first-place winner, while Deer Creek Lions selected Kirsten Peterson as their winner, and the Bluffton Lions Club chose Whitney Eichoff as the club's best poster. Each youth received a $25 check and an electronic game. Other posters winners included: fourth place - Ashley Lehmkuhl, $15; fifth place - Lance Pierce, $10; and sixth place - Grace Mertens, $5. The Lions Youth Outreach poster contest asks students to draw a poster about making healthy lifestyle choices. Topics include drug and alcohol prevention, peer pressure, bullying and depression. Wadena-Deer Creek sixth-grade classes incorporate the Lions poster contest as part of their classroom activities and as a way to support a worthy Lions Club cause.
