Wadena HRA receives state recognition for hiring practices
The Wadena Housing and Redevelopment Authority was recently honored as an Outstanding Employer of Older Workers. The award was presented at a "Minnesota Employ the Older Worker Week" luncheon on Sept. 24 in Edina sponsored by the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development. Receiving the award for the HRA were Executive Director Dianne Rousslang, Maintenance Supervisor Pat Schwartz and Board Member Bernice Geiser.
Of the seven current HRA staff, four are 55-plus, with two working part-time. In addition, there is an Experience Works custodial assistant (age 78) assigned to help maintain Humphrey Manor.
