Wadena Floral closes
Wadena Floral, Inc., closed its doors Nov. 8 after being in business for 75 years.
The Peterson family, including Ron and Carole, their children Karla and Brian and daughter-in-law Peg, owned and operated the business for the past 26 years.
Karla Peterson was a floral designer for Wadena Floral and dealt with the public.
She said they have gotten a lot of thank you notes from customers recently. The family is not certain what they will be doing next, she said.
The Petersons wish to thank the community for their support and friendship throughout all the years, Karla said. They also want to thank all the different employees they had over the years for all their hard work and dedication. Karla worked with three other ladies in the flower shop and there were too many employees to count when the store was getting ready for the spring planting season, she said.
Wadena Floral served the communities of Bertha, Henning, New York Mills, Sebeka, Verndale and Wadena. The business recently introduced its own Curb Appealers line of plants for container, basket and yard gardening.
