Fourteen students from Wadena-Deer Creek High School attended the Business Professionals of America State Leadership Conference March 11-13 in Minneapolis.

Placing in the top 20 were the following:

Angie Lorentz and Molly Barrett will be attending the National BPA Leadership Conference in Anaheim, Calif., May 4 to 9. Lorentz, Barrett and advisor, Sandy Bain, will be joining 5,000 other delegates from across the nation to participate in their competitions.

Lorentz will be competing for the second year in Legal Office Procedures and Barrett will be competing for the first time at the national level in Basic Office Systems. Nikki Miller also qualified for the national BPA competition; however, she is unable to attend.

BPA is an organization for high school students, which prepares them for future careers. The organization's activities complement classroom instruction by giving students practical experience through application of skills learned at school.
