Wadena Council holds organizational meeting
In its first regular meeting of the new year, the Wadena City Council accepted Planning and Zoning Director Byron Larson's resignation with regrets.
"On behalf of the city, thank you very much for your dedicated years of service," Mayor Wayne Wolden said.
"I just want to thank everybody. I've enjoyed very much the years of working here," Larson said.
The council also swore in re-elected officials Mayor Wayne Wolden, Council Member Jeanette Baymler and Council Member Toby Pierce.
For the new year, the council also confirmed regular meeting times, official depositories for city funds, city council board appointments, the city investment policy, Jeanette Baymler as acting mayor, Toby Pierce as re-appointed to the WHRA Board, Pederson & Pederson as prosecuting attorney and the Pioneer Journal as official newspaper for council legal announcements.
The council also approved an employee step increase for Jody Christianson at the municipal liquor store.
In one change for the new year, Baymler said she did not want to be an alternate for Kitchigami Regional Library. Council member Don Niles said the alternate position could be left open.
