Wadena Area College Foundation awards scholarships
The Wadena Area College Foundation (WACF) has awarded $2,000 in scholarships to five students attending Minnesota State Community and Technical College (M State) -- Wadena this fall semester. Scholarships recipients are selected by a volunteer committee made up of Foundation board members, and M State faculty and staff based on criteria this committee selects and donors' wishes, and are to be used to assist with college expenses.
These five scholarship recipients are:
Gregory Bahr from Verndale, receiving a Computer and Network Technology Scholarship is pursuing a degree in computer and network technology.
Julie Sydow from Battle Lake, receiving a Cosmetology Program Scholarship is pursuing a degree in cosmetology.
Joshua Graves from Esko, Minn. receiving a Memorial Scholarship is pursuing a degree in electrical lineworker technology.
Ryan Gronlund from Verndale, receiving a Memorial Scholarship is pursuing a degree in liberal arts.
Jaime Legatt from Perham, receiving a Robert Erickson Part-Time Student Scholarship is pursuing a degree in nursing.
These scholarship awards are made possible through generous donations made to Wadena Area College Foundation and Minnesota Colleges and Universities Foundation. The WACF is organized on behalf of M State-Wadena to develop scholarships and other programs for the Wadena campus and its students. The mission is to raise, manage and distribute funds to further educational goals for the benefit of M State-Wadena.
