Voting nears for the WDC levy
Tuesday, Nov. 3 will be the date to go to the polls to vote on the proposed levy referendum for Wadena-Deer Creek schools.
There will only be one polling place to cast a ballot in person: Wadena Memorial Auditorium, 304 Dayton Ave. SW. Polls will open at 10 a.m. and stay open until 8 p.m.
Voters should also be aware there are two questions dealing with WDC's levy. The first would authorize $650 per pupil to replace a roughly $100 current levy, which is set to expire. A second question would add an additional $150 per student, but the first question must pass in order for the second to pass.
Voters must be registered to cast a ballot, but everyone can register at the polls and vote on the same day.
Those who cannot make it to the polling place have an option of casting an absentee ballot up to Nov. 2.
Absentee voter applications and ballots are available at the Wadena-Deer Creek School District office, which is at 520 Colfax Ave. SW. Absentee applications are also available on WDC's school Web site at www.wdc2155.k12.mn.us or on the Minnesota Secretary of State's Web site at www.sos.state.mn.us.
