Volkmann named 2010 MVP

Courtney Volkmann was chosen the Most Valuable Player of the 2010 Wadena-Deer Creek volleyball team at their annual awards banquet Jan. 10.

Volkmann finished her career with records for most aces (178), career aces (495), career setting assists (4,232) and career digs (1,241). She was named the Minnesota Class AA Player of the Year after helping her team capture the state championship in St. Paul.

Other team awards went to Emily Miron (Most Improved) and Caitlin Volkmann and Hope Theisen (Best Serving Percentage).
