The Pillager Huskies broke a 5-5 tie in the top of the seventh Tuesday as they edged Verndale 7-5 in Park Region Conference action.

Danielle Johnson, Ally Hunstad and Hannah Horn all came up with two hits for Pillager and Kelsie Hanson drove in two runs.


Kirsten Korfe went 2-for-4 with four RBIs in the loss. Lizzy Yungbauer doubled twice and drove in a run. Elizabeth Johnson went 2-for-2. Teresa Moenkedick scored twice.

Hunstad walked three and fanned nine in gaining the pitching win. Jenny Swenson walked three and fanned three in taking the loss.

The Tigers ripped Verndale pitching for 18 hits Friday en route to a victory over the Pirates.

The Tigers broke the game open in the second when they scored 11 times.

Dan Johnson's Pirates were guilty of six errors in the loss.

Katie Wangberg came up with four hits for Tigers while Morgan Demars, Megan Felhous and Caroline Welsand all collected three. Tatum Sheley homered, drove in five runs and collected two hits.

Teresa Moenkedick went 4-for-5 and scored a pair of runs for Verndale. Lizzy Yungbauer and Elizabeth Johnson both collected two hits.
