Valerie Anne (Westad) Klever, 69, of Henning, died Friday, Dec. 15, 2006, at the Henning Health Care Center in Henning.
She was born in Wadena on Jan. 15, 1937, the daughter of Alvin and Bertha (Beaman) Westad. She grew up in Henning and graduated from Henning High School in 1955. She was married to Marvin Klever on Sept. 17, 1955, in Henning. She worked on the farm for several years and later held jobs at the First National Bank, Consumers Oil Co., Henning Creamery, The V-Store in Henning, 15 years at the Dorow Mink Farm at Ottertail and 15 years at the Henning Hatchery. She was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, WELCA, the Red Hats, circle and church service groups. She loved visiting with friends and family, reading, quilting, watching old movies, family reunions and ball games.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Dec. 19, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Henning with the Rev. Roger Johnson officiating. Casket bearers were: Jason Zinter, Kimberly Klever, Jessica Zinter, Trista Klever, Kyle Klever, Kelly Klever, Kayla Klever, Jared Klever and Dustin Klever. Interment is in the United Cemetery at Henning. Belmont Funeral Home in Henning was in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include her husband, Marvin; mother, Bertha Westad, Wadena; sons, Kenneth (Kathy) Klever, Moorhead, Kevin (Lori) Klever, Henning, and Kurt (Cindi) Klever, Spicer, daughter, Vicki (Russell) Zinter, Ellendale, N.D.; nine grandchildren; sisters, Dolly (Harold) Deckert, Buena Park, Calif., and Karen Munson, Wadena; brother, Lance (Joy) Westad, Farmington, nieces, nephews and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her father; aunts, uncles and cousins.
