UPDATE: Man receives non-life threatening injuries in Highway 71 collision
Wadena Minnesota 314 S. Jefferson 56482

Two southbound vehicles collided Monday afternoon seven miles south of Wadena on Highway 71.

According to information from the Minnesota State Highway Patrol, David Cuppy, 47, of Bertha, who was driving a 1998 Chevrolet Z71 pick-up, struck the rear end of a livestock trailer pulled by a 1999 Dodge pick-up at around 3:45 p.m. when the driver, Romain Mueller, 80, of Long Prairie, stopped or slowed down for another vehicle, which was turning onto 490th Street, one mile north of Hewitt.

State Highway Public Information Officer Jesse Grabow said Cuppy was taken by ambulance to Tri-County Health Care in Wadena and treated for non-life threatening injuries. Mueller was not injured in the collision, according to the report.

Cuppy's vehicle was heavily dam-aged, and Mueller's pick-up sustained heavy damage from the trailer being thrust forward into the box area by the impact. Mueller's vehicle was still in drivable condition, however.
