Two men arrested for possession at Staples train depot
Two men in possession of methamphetamine were arrested at the train depot in Staples on Tuesday.
The Staples Police Department received a report on Monday of an individual, carrying a large amount of methamphetamine, was traveling from Washington State to Staples on the Amtrak.
When the train reached Staples, agents of the Central Minnesota Violent Offenders Task Force (CMVOTF), with the assistance of the Staples police and the Todd County Sheriff’s Office, arrested Arthur Woods, 29, of Lake Stevens, Wash., for possession of a small amount of meth and a loaded handgun. In addition to Woods, the agents arrested Robert Neal Owen, 37, of Wadena, who had arrived to pick up Woods. Owen was also found to be in possession of a small amount of meth.
Both men were transported to the Todd County Detention Center in Long Prairie where they are being held pending formal charges.
