Two charged with selling alcohol to minors
Two Wadena County people were charged in district court with the law that makes it a criminal misdemeanor offense to sell alcohol to a minor.
The charges came after an undercover 18-year-old man worked with Wadena County authorities to conduct compliance checks at all liquor license holders.
On June 9, the 18-year-old allegedly purchased a rum and coke from Whitetail Run Golf Course bartender Katherine Jayleen Sharp
Anderson, 20, of Wadena.
On the same day, the same undercover man also allegedly purchased a 12 pack of beer from Super One in Wadena, specifically from clerk John Gregory Hauer, 24, of Verndale.
The law says the individual seller -- not the business -- can be charged criminally with one count of purchase/sell/barter/furnish/give alcohol to a person under 21 years of age. Both Anderson and Hauer were set for initial appearances on July 11 in Wadena County District Court.
