Two accidents involving Amish buggies reported in Todd County
Two crashes involving vehicles and Amish buggies were reported in Todd County, one involving injuries to children and the other involving a pickup and Amish farm equipment.
Two Amish children were hurt when a car struck their buggy in Todd County Friday, Sept. 25.
A driver who was eastbound on Todd County Road 10 struck the buggy from behind. The accident happened in Reynolds Township.
Long Prairie Fire and Rescue responded and the children were taken to an unidentified hospital. Their names and conditions were not immediately released.
Also on Sept. 25, an accident was reported on Todd County Road 11, just south of Todd County Road 14. A Chevy S-10 pickup truck rear-ended an Amish hay wagon driven by Joseph Kaffman of rural Browerville. Kaffman was examined at the scene by ambulance personnel and released. There was moderate damage to the hay wagon and severe damage to the pickup, but there were no injuries.
The Todd County Sheriff's Department reminded motorists to stay alert for farm machinery during the harvest season.
