Toys for Troops Comedy Tour coming to Wadena
The Toys for Troops Comedy Tour, with award winning comedian Scott Hansen, is raising money for local veterans organizations and families as well as collecting unwrapped toys for children of military families.
The tour will be in Wadena on Saturday, Nov. 26 at 8 p.m. at the Wadena VFW Post 3922, 213 First Street SE.
Since 2005, Hansen is credited with raising more than $250,000 in cash and toys for families in Minnesota. In 2010, twenty Minnesota locations from all the corners of the state were filled with supporters of the cause that included many veterans as well as military currently serving our nation.

Scott Hansen is the unprecedented, 5-time winner of the Minnesota Comedian of the Year award. This is not an easy accomplishment in a state that is the home of comic stars Louie Anderson, Tom Arnold and Al Franken. The award-winning comedian has made millions laugh with successful national TV appearances on HBO, Showtime, A&E and E!. Scott has developed and created two pilots and a series for Comedy Central including " Access America" which starred Fred Willard, Digest America and "Seriously Weird Magazine," which starred Joel Hodgson of "Mystery Science Theatre 3000."
On regional television, Hansen has produced, written, directed and hosted "Comedy Gallery: The TV Show" on KMSP-TV (FOX). The show was a ratings hit as it consistently beat "David Letterman" and the "Tonight Show" in its weekly Friday night time slot. Scott has been the director, producer and head writer of the award-winning, live comedy specials "April Fools Live" and "Halloween Live" which were hosted by Harry Anderson, Jennie Jones and Roseanne Barr.
Hansen's 20-plus years of laugh-filled performances have set attendance records at comedy clubs, colleges and corporate events nationwide. His national reputation has earned him a spot appearing in concert with superstars Jay Leno, Jerry Seinfeld and Drew Carey.
Creatively, Hansen has written comedy material that has been performed on the "Tonight Show" or "David Letterman" by Jay Leno, Louie Anderson and Roseanne Barr. As an actor Scott starred in the short thriller "Warped" which was directed by Roger Nygaard ("Trekkies," "Mind of the Married Man" ) which won the Houston International Film Festival and in the feature film "Crossing the Bridge directed by Mike Binder ("The Upside of Anger.")
Hansen is critically acclaimed and has been praised in the local print media with numerous front-page, feature stories, including the covers of City Pages,The Minneapolis StarTribune.
