Distance running champion Carrie Tollefson will share her Olympian story with fourth-, fifth- and sixth-grade students Wednesday at Wadena-Deer Creek Elementary School.
Tollefson will speak from 10:30-11:45 a.m. in the auditorium.
The former Dawson, Minn. athlete graduated from Villanova University where she was a five-team NCAA champion in 2000. Tollefson participated in the Summer Olympics in the 1,500 run in 2004. She achieved a number of career milestones in 2006 when she won the USA Indoor 3,000 champion and the USA Cross Country championship as well as taking the World Indoor title.
