Todd-Wadena Electric Cooperative to recognize commitment to community
Do you know an organization that has made outstanding contributions to the local community?
Todd-Wadena Electric Cooperative is seeking applications for the 6th annual Touchstone Energy Community Award, which recognizes businesses or non-profit community groups that have shown strong commitment to the community. Any organization that has helped to make this area a better place to live and work is eligible for the award and its $500 cash prize.
Community members may nominate an organization, association or business by completing an application form, available at the Todd-Wadena office or online at www.toddwadena.coop. The application will require a description of the project, program or event and the positive impact it has brought to the community. Completed applications must be received at Todd-Wadena's office by Oct. 31. Questions may be directed to Pat Johnson, public relations manager, at (218) 631-3120 or (800) 321-8932.
"Todd-Wadena came into existence because of local community involvement," Johnson said. "This award allows us to highlight and encourage other organizations that have shown a commitment to central Minnesota and its future."
The award recipient will be announced in November and will then contend for the statewide Touchstone Energy Community Award, which has a cash prize of $1,000. The statewide award winner will be recognized at the Minnesota Rural Electric Association annual meeting in March 2011.
Minnesota Touchstone Energy cooperatives are a national alliance of more than 700 electric cooperatives that adhere to the values of integrity, accountability, innovation and commitment to community.
