Todd-Wadena Electric Cooperative announces manager's retirement
The Todd-Wadena Electric Cooperative board of directors has announced the planned retirement of Dale Hendrickson and has named Robin Doege as the cooperative's next general manager, effective Jan. 1. Hendrickson will assist the cooperative in the transition as his management officially ends Jan. 25.
Hendrickson managed the cooperative for more than 22 years. Only two other managers, Paul Richter and Jon Bellgown, preceded him in the cooperative's 70-year history. Previous to his time at Todd-Wadena, Hendrickson held engineering positions with McLeod (Glencoe, Minn.) and Meeker (Litchfield, Minn.) Electric Cooperatives.
"I'll miss the day-to-day challenges and operations of Todd-Wadena and the interaction with employees and members," he said, "but I'm looking forward to having more time with my family and more time for hunting and fishing."
He said he is confident that "Robin Doege and Todd-Wadena's hardworking employees will continue to deliver high-quality, cost-effective electric service to the members."
Bruce Berg, Todd-Wadena board president, said Dale has led the cooperative through several significant process improvement projects. "We are grateful for his dedication to Todd-Wadena these past 22 years and we certainly wish him well in retirement," he said. "At the same time, we look forward to working with Robin, who brings a new leadership perspective along with diverse utility experience."
Doege, his wife Cindy and their two children currently reside in Lino Lakes, Minn. From 1995 to 2005, Robin held management positions at Connexus Energy in the areas of loss control, utility services/facilities and metering. More recently, he has been managing a staffing and transportation services company, which he founded in 2005. Doege will be at Todd Wadena's Holiday Open House from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 16, to meet members and people from the community.
