Scott Syverson knocked down five treys and came up with a season-high 23 points as the Wolverines evened their record at 6-6. Syverson was red-hot in the first half, netting 17 points as the Wolverines built a 53-12 lead.

Equally impressive as the season-high 53 first half points was the season-low 33 points allowed by the Wolverines. The previous low came in a 58-36 win over Park Rapids Dec. 11. Tuesday's win marked the fourth improvement in points allowed.

Ten WDC cagers figured in the scoring as the Wolverines shot 58 percent from the field and 69 percent from three-point range. Kevin Tumberg also reached double figures by netting 10 points. Missing the game due to illness was Jordan Reed, who poured in 30 points in a win over New York Mills last Thursday.

Daniel Janu led the Hornets with 13 tallies.

Tumberg dished out eight assists Cory Tumberg and Tayler Byman combined for 10 of WDC's 29 rebounds.
