On June 9, the groundbreaking ceremony for the Blessing family Thrivent Builds home in Wadena was held.
The ground breaking ceremony for the Thrivent Builds with Habitat for Humanity home, being built at 14 Birch NE in Wadena, was held Tuesday June 9, at the building site. The home is being built in partnership with the Connie Blessing family. Attending the ceremony were family and friends of the Blessings, Wadena-Todd County Chapter of Thrivent Financial members, Leaf River Area Habitat for Humanity board members, Thrivent Builds Project team members and members of local church congregations and communities.
Speakers were Frank Stanislowski, Leaf River Area Habitat for Humanity board president, Mike Kramer, Leaf River Area Habitat executive director, Bob Mueller, Thrivent Financial Representative, Connie Blessing, homeowner and Pastor Rob Nelson, Immanuel Lutheran Church Wadena. Coffee, lemon-aid, and cookies were served following the ceremony.
Construction was set to begin in June and continue to the dedication October 2009.
