What caused the death of Dajun Timothy Honer?

Authorities are trying to piece together Honer's final hours after the 31-year-old Henning man was found injured, lying in the traffic lane of Minnesota Highway 210 within city limits around 3 a.m. on Sunday, July 18.

The Henning Police Department said Honer was taken by ambulance to Tri-County Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

His body was sent for an autopsy to the Ramsey County Medical Examiner's Office, which determined the cause of death was a blunt trauma to Honer's head. The Otter Tail County Sheriff's Office called Honer's passing a "suspicious death."

Investigators believe Honer was in a 2005 Chevy Impala the night of his death. That vehicle has been taken to the Otter Tail County Operations Center for forensic processing. The driver and two passengers in the Impala have been identified and interviewed, the sheriff's office said.

Honer's death is still under investigation by Henning police, the Otter Tail County Sheriff's Office and the Minnesota State Patrol, the Henning PD said. They are waiting for a full report from the Ramsey County Medical Examiner's Office.

The State Patrol is reconstructing the scene where Honer was found.
