TCHC trustee earns Minnesota Hospital Association certification

Photo provided Don Bottemiller, Tri-County Health Care Board member since 1982, was recently honored for completing the Minnesota Hospital Association board member certification program.

Don Bottemiller, a trustee of Tri-County Health Care in Wadena, was honored on July 8 for completing the Minnesota Hospital Association (MHA) board member certification program.

Certifications were awarded at the association's summer trustee conference.

Under the voluntary training program, hospital board members earn at least 35 education unit credits for studying in topics as varied as strategic planning and positioning and patient safety and quality. The program is designed to help trustees remain up-to-date on health-care issues, to hone their leadership skills and to develop governance best practices.

"Despite Don's 28 years on the Tri-County Health Care board, it is commendable that he saw value in continuing his education to strengthen his board knowledge and skill base to improve the health care system in Wadena and the surrounding area," said Joel Beiswenger, Tri-County Health Care President and CEO. "His passion toward the betterment of Tri-County Health Care is admirable."

"This certification program demonstrates that participants takes their stewardship role very seriously," MHA President and CEO Lawrence Massa said. "This designation is just one more indication that Tri-County Health Care maintains high standards of excellence."
