'Suspicious' fire now called arson in Todd County
A fire on Saturday, Nov. 21 near Browerville has now been determined to be arson after the state fire marshall's office investigated.
The Todd County Sheriff's Office responded to what it called a "suspicious house fire" of an abandoned home at 27302 County Road 16. The blaze at the vacant house was put out by the Browerville Fire Department with assistance from the Clarissa Fire Department.
After investigators looked at the fire, they determined the cause was arson, and are encouraging the public to call the Minnesota Arson Rewards Project at (800) 723-2020 or the Todd County Sheriff's Office at (800) 794-5733. A reward of up to $2,500 has been offered for information leading to the identification of the people responsible for the alleged arson.
