Brody Gimberlin and Luke Schwarz had four-point games Tuesday as the Morris/Benson Storm toppled Wadena-Deer Creek 9-5 at the Benson Civic Center.

The Storm piled up five up five first period goals to WDC's one and led 8-3 after two periods.

Mitchell Swanson came up with a hat trick and one assist for the Wolverines. Bridger Pettit and Mike Paavola both collected one goal and one assist. David Najjar had a pair of assists while Jake Krause and Dylan Phillips chipped in with solo assists.

The Wolverines ended the regular season with a 1-23 record. The Section 6A playoffs begin Saturday, Feb. 18.

Garrett Schmitz recorded a hat trick and Dylan Zutz iced two goals Saturday as the Eagles completed a season sweep over the Wolverines.

WDC's first line of Mitchell Swanson, Bridger Pettit and Dylan Phillips accounted for all four goals. Swanson put two goals in the board in the first period after the Eagles had jumped out to a 3-0 lead.

The Wolverines tied the game at 3-all in the second period as Pettit took a feed from Swanson and Phillips at the 23-second ,mark.

Red Lake Falls dominated scoring in the final period 4-1 as Schmitz and Zutz scored again and were joined by Tristan Knott and Joe Berberena. Phillips countered for WDC, scoring at 9:01 on a feed from Paavola to make it a 4-4 game.

Cory McManigle stopped 21 shots by Red Lake Falls while Wyatt Casavan kicked out 26.

The North Stars out-shot the Wolverines 17-2 in third period Friday to break a 2-all tie.

Robby Polipnick's first period goal for Park Centre was matched by Dylan Phillips' goal at the 8:52 mark.

Sam Ecker's goal at the 1:12 mark of the second period was countered by Jake Krause's goal at the 8:53 mark.

The third period belonged to the North Stars as they surged ahead on goals by Nate Mettenburg and Derek Holm.

Bridger Pettit came up with two assists for WDC while Mitchell Swanson recorded one.

Clay Deters kicked out 18 shots in the victory while Wesley Janson stopped 37 shots in the loss.

Joey Bergquist stopped 28 shots as the Lightning blanked the Wolverines at Breezy Point.

The Lightning cashed in on two first period power play opportunities after Bridger Pettit earned a five-minute major for checking from behind and a 10-minute checking from behind misconduct penalty. Gaven Bickford and Connor Chambers put the power play goals away within 27 seconds of each other.

Aspen Flory, Dillon Johnson and Kegan Couture also iced goals for the Lightning in the second and third periods.

The Lightning completed a season sweep against the Wolverines and improved to 11-10-2 on the season.

Chambers was slapped with a five-minute major in the third period when he committed an illegal check to the head. The Wolverines were 0-for-6 on the power play.
