Over the last 19 years, STORM Campers have volunteered more than 80,000 hours to serve more than 1,000 families/individuals reaching communities in a 45 mile radius of Park Rapids. They have served people in Park Rapids, Ponsford, Lake George, Nevis, Walker, Emmaville, Menahga, Sebeka, Hubbard, Deer Creek, New York Mills, Wadena, Frazee, Detroit Lakes and many places in between. STORM Campers have also partnered with local churches, agencies, senior centers, and social services lending a hand to help people stand on their own.

Work teams consist of five kids between the ages of 13-18 and one adult. Over the years, the group has accomplished a variety of tasks including indoor and outdoor painting, yard work, ramp building, indoor and outdoor clean-up, demolition of small structures, wood splitting and stacking, etc. Generally, each group serves one family for a day and are often amazed at how much work a team of six hard working people can get done.

The STORM Campers need projects -- approximately 100 full day jobs in the area. Anyone who would benefit from the service of STORM Camp, contact the group. To have a STORM team come to your home the week of July 25-30, call Ardyth Corbin in Sebeka at (218) 837-5321, or contact the Menahga or Sebeka United Methodist Church at (218) 837-5840.
