Staples Area Men's Chorus to wrap up season in town
After a busy year with challenging music and collaborations of every shape and kind, the Staples Area Men's Chorus will wrap up their 2011-12 season on Saturday, May 5, at 7 p.m.at the Landmark Inn in Staples.
"After a busy year with some pretty heavy music, we decided to perform some lighter literature in a more relaxed atmosphere," said Steve Hoemberg, chorus director.
The concert, titled "The Lighter Side," will include hors d'oeuvres as part of the ticket price, with beverages available through donation as well. Unlike a typical "stand-up concert," this event is designed to be more social, allowing the audience to relax and enjoy the goodies during the concert itself, all the while mingling with the men of the chorus.
Last year was the first time the chorus hosted the event, and both audience and chorus members alike had a joyous time.
The Landmark Inn is a smaller venue, meaning a full house is around a 100 people or so, so get your tickets right away. You can get them from chorus members, or from Staples Wireless, 4th St., Staples.
