Staff coming aboard at Maslowski Wellness and Regional Center
During the next few months we will be posting an information gram in the Wadena PJ about the progress of the Wellness Center. We will post various items such as timelines, construction progress, facility information and much more.
Week of Aug. 4 — 8:
Construction continues in the MWRC. Inside the building, crews are busy working on electrical work and lighting. Lights are in the process of being installed in the upper level of the facility which is the fitness/strength area. Everything is taking shape as you look at the facility as a whole, however there is much work yet to be done. Locker rooms have lockers in place and the showers are going in soon.
The front desk is nearing completion. It will have a locking cage that goes around it at the end of the day for security during 24 hour access times. The racquetball court wood flooring has been installed, with the walls and ceiling soon to follow. Much of the landscaping around the building has been installed (trees and shrubs), and the main parking lot is complete.
The aquatic area is amazing with a therapy pool, zero entry pool with water slide and play features, lap pool and spa. It will also include a steam room and sauna, as well as two party rooms just off the zero entry pool that will be available to rent for parties.
Pool work will consist of finishing with the linings in early September and being filled with water. The pool pumps and filters will be operated for approximately one month for testing.
With the hiring of our full time maintenance employee about two weeks ago, and being the process of interviewing candidates for the aquatic/recreation coordinator, we are really moving along.
We will also be hiring part time desk clerks, part time maintenance, and lifeguards for the facility.
One final note: We will soon be ordering much of the F.F.E. for the facility which will take some time to arrive. An opening time frame for the facility will be early November — early December.
Keep checking the PJ for the MWRC update column every other week.
