St. John will have 'open air' church service
A church that was damaged in Thursday's tornado will hold one service at 9 a.m. Sunday.
The Rev. Stephen Meltzer said Saturday that about 30 people showed up to fix up the church and remove debris so a service could be held. It was a "pretty bad" mess, he said. And there will be an interesting feature to Sunday's service.
"We're going to be the only church in Wadena to have the distinction of having an open air service tomorrow," Meltzer said, referring to a hole in the roof.
Those who want to attend the service will have to come in from the west, not the east. Meltzer said there will still be law enforcement stationed at State Highway 29 and Otter Tail County Road 75, but churchgoers should identify themselves as headed for the service and they'll be let through.
